Library Board

The Library Board of the Academic Library of the University of South Bohemia is an advisory body to the Rector of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice for the area of information resources managed by the Academic Library of the University of South Bohemia.

The Library Board primarily expresses its opinion on the concept of individual key activities of the Academic Library, on the global principles of allocating financial resources for replenishing the library and other information funds of the Academic Library, on proposals for improving the activities of the Academic Library and on proposals for the Library and Organizational Rules of the Academic Library of the University of South Bohemia.

The Library Board has permanent and appointed members. Permanent members of the Library Board are by virtue of their function:

• the acting Vice-Rector,
• the Director of the Academic Library

Other members of the Library Board are appointed and dismissed by:

• the Dean of the Faculty from among the teaching and scientific staff of the Faculty,
• the Director of the Academic Library,
• the Chairman of the Academic Senate of the University of South Bohemia from among the student chamber of the Academic Senate,
• the Director of the Biological Center of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.

The function of the Chair of the Library Board is performed by the relevant Vice-Rector. The Chair of the Library Board may appoint a deputy. The Chair of the Library Board, in cooperation with the library director, convenes meetings of the Library Board at least twice a year.
